Shiney's judicial custody extended till Aug 13

The judicial custody of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja arrested for allegedly raping his domestic maid has been extended to August 13. The Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi actor who is lodged at Mumbai's Arthur Road jail was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate through video conferencing.

This is the fourth straight extension of judicial custody for the Bollywood actor. The medical tests conducted on the girl had confirmed sexual assault and the subsequent DNA tests conducted had found traces of semen in both their clothes. The National Commission for Women has demanded the Maharashtra Government to fast track the case.

Shiney was arrested on June 15 after his maid servant had filed a complaint Oshiwara Police Station. The actor has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 with rape, along with wrongful restraint and intimidation. The actor denied having raped the girl and said he had consensual sex with her.
