Simple Kapadia succumbs to cancer

Yesteryear Bollywood actress and costume designer Simple Kapadia succumbed to cancer yesterday (November 10) in Mumbai. The 51-year-old actress was Dimple Kapadia's younger sister.

Simple Kapadia had been battling cancer for the last three years. Her sister Dimple was always by her side during her ordeal and she was present when she took her last breath. The cancer-stricken actress passed away following a heart attack.

Simple started enter Bollywood with Anurodh in 1976 opposite Rajesh Khanna and went on to act in over a dozen film. She quit acting in 1986 and returned to Bollywood as a costume designer. She bagged national award for best costume design for the film Rudaali.
