Yash Chopra gets Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award

The 'Master of Romance' Yash Chopra has just added one more feather to his already glittering cap of achievements. This time round, he will be felicitated at the prestigious 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) and will be presented the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award.

Not just that, Yash Raj Films will also have a major presence at the PIFF with the screening of four of their films - Lamhe, Dhoom 2, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and New York in the 'A Special Program in Focus: Retrospective on Yash Chopra' section. Kabir Khan, director of New York, one of the four YRF films being screened at the PIFF, has also been specially invited to the festival.

For starters, the PIFF, which is held at Busan (also called Pusan) happens to be an annual film festival in Asia and will open on October 8th 2009 and will continue for a span of 9 days. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism and Metropolitan City of Busan, the PIFF attracts over 200,000 visitors and has over 10,000 participating guests from 55 countries.
