57th National Film Awards 2009 announced

The 57th National Film Awards 2009 was announced on Wednesday afternoon (15th September, 2010). Amitabh Bachchan was honoured as the Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the film Paa.

Malayalam Movie Kutty Shrank won the Best Movie Award for the year. Film 3 Idiots bagged the Best Film Award for wholesome entertainment. Minisha Lamba and Boman Irani starrer film Well Done Abba directed by Shyam Benegal got the Best Movie on Social Issues. Abhishek Bachchan starer film Dehli 6 won The Nargis Dutt Award For Best Feature Film on National Integration.

The film Abohoman got Rituparno Ghosh the Best Director Award and actress Ananya Chatterjee the Best Actress of the year.

The music of the film Dev D by Amit Trivedi won the Best Music Director Award. Resul Pokkutty won the Best Sound Engineer Award. Best Background Music was won by Iilayarajafor the Malayalam movie Pazzhashi Raja. K. Siva Shankar won the Best Choreographer of the year for the Telugu film Magadheera. Farooq Shaikh won the award for the Best Actor in Supporting Role for the film Lahore. Arundati Nag bagged the Best Actress in Supporting Role for the film Paa.

Best Children Film of the year is the Kannada film Puttani Party and Ottani Patti and Keshu won the best Child Artist Award. The Best Tamil Film of the year is Pasanga.
