Aamir's 3 Idiots sweeps IIFA Awards

Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots is in the news again. After bagging six awards at the Filmfare Awards, it has swept the the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards 2010 to be held in Sri Lanka from June 3 to 5. It has bagged eight awards in the technical category.

3 Idiots beat other films by bagging awards for Best Screenplay, Cinematography, Dialogue, Background Score, Editing, Best Sound Recording, Best Song Recording, Sound Re-recording. It was nominated in 14 categories including best film, best actor, best director and best actress.

Love Aaj Kal won Bosco Caesar the Best Choreography Award while Anahita Shroff and Dolly Ahluwalia won the Best Costume Designing award for the same film. Sabu Cyril bagged the Best Art Direction and Charles Darby won the Best Special Effects award for their work in the film Aladin. Kaminey won Sham Kaushal the Best Action Award while the Best Makeup Award went to Christien Tinsley and Dominie Till for Paa.
