Aamir Khan on a cleanliness drive

Bollywood star Aamir Khan is going back to school, but this time for a cause. The actor, who has become very popular among the school children after the release of Taare Zameen Par, is promoting cleanliness. He has been appointed as sanitation brand ambassador by the Government of India to promote cleanliness in all Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in the country.

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal said after launching the National School Sanitation Initiative in New Delhi that Aamir would bring about change and make the scheme a big success. Aamir said that he would discuss with the HRD and urban development ministries on the matter and reach out to students through CDs and internet.

Sibal had earlier announced that implement sanitation scheme in schools through health and wellness clubs. The initiative is undertaken by the HRD ministry and the urban development ministry to provide sanitation facilities to school children.
