Imagine
a
film
awards
function
without
the
Bachchans!
The
55th
Filmfare
Awards
was
conducted
without
the
Bachchan
family.
But
why?
Because
they
are
not
happy
with
the
Mumbai
Mirror,
which
belongs
to
the
Times
Group
(organiser
of
the
event),
for
carrying
false
report
about
Aishwarya
Bachchan.
Amitabh
Bachchan
wrote
in
his
blog
that
the
Bachchan
family
is
going
to
keep
away
from
the
function.
“We
have
informed
Filmfare
that
neither
will
Aishwarya
be
performing
at
the
event,
for
which
all
preparations
had
been
made
and
neither
shall
any
of
us
be
attending.
Which
includes
Balki,
the
director
of
the
film,
even
when
Paa
has
been
nominated
in
five
categories
for
the
evening.
No
coercion,
just
a
voluntary
decision
of
solidarity," he
blogged.
He
also
thanked
Balki
for
standing
by
his
family.
“Thank
you
Balki
!!
Instead
he
shall
be
coming
over
to
discuss
a
few
new
and
exciting
ideas
for
our
next
film
!!
Couldn't
have
chosen
a
better
time!!!"
he
wrote.
He
added
that
lawyers
notice
has
been
delivered
to
the
editor
of
Mumbai
Mirror,
seeking
on
a
legal
plane
retraction
and
apology.
The
Bachchan
family
is
angry
over
the
recent
report
by
Mumbai
Mirror
that
Aishwarya
couldn't
bear
a
child
due
to
stomach
tuberculosis.
They
demanded
a
public
apology
from
the
publication
house
but
they
didn't
relent,
and
thus
the
boycott.
Sadly,
Amitabh
Bachchan,
who
bagged
Filmfare
Best
Actor
Award
for
his
performance
in
Paa,
kept
away
from
the
star-studded
function.
