Bollywood
superstar
Amitabh
Bachchan
has
rubbished
rumours
that
he
was
re-entering
politics.
This
after
Amitabh
held
a
special
screening
of
his
movie
Paa
for
Gujarat
Chief
Minister
Narendra
Modi.
What
fuelled
speculations
was
that
Amitabh's
meeting
with
Modi
came
on
a
day
when
his
close
friend
Amar
Singh
quit
from
all
posts
in
the
Samajwadi
Party
which
had
so
far
used
Amitabh
Bachchan
as
its
unofficial
brand
ambassador.
Amitabh
who
was
surprised
by
these
speculations
said
that
he
had
no
plans
to
re-enter
political
not
now
and
not
even
in
the
distant
future.
He
said
that
he
had
met
Modi
only
to
request
him
to
make
Paa
tax
free
in
Gujarat.
Amitabh
added
that
Modi
was
kind
enough
to
meet
him
and
watch
Paa
with
some
of
his
cabinet
colleagues
to
watch
the
film.
Bachchan
had
earlier
offered
to
promote
Gujarat
as
he
was
impressed
by
its
cultural
heritage.
Big
B
had
short
lived
political
career
when
he
was
elected
to
the
Lok
Sabha
from
Allahabad
in
1984
due
to
his
closeness
with
Rajiv
Gandhi.
He
however
resigned
after
three
years
when
his
and
his
brother
Ajitabh
Bachchan's
name
came
out
in
the
Bofor's
scandal
that
had
socked
the
nation.
Surely
Big
B
is
not
willing
to
burn
his
fingers
again.
