Bollywood
superstar
Amitabh
Bachchan
is
heart
broken
over
the
death
of
his
friend
and
co-star
Mac
Mohan,
who
was
known
for
his
character
Sambha
in
the
classic
film
Sholay.
In
the
film,
Amitabh
played
the
hero
while
Mohan
played
a
villain
but
they
are
close
to
each
other
in
real
life.
He
remembers
him
as
a
man
with
a
gentle
soul.
“There
is
sadness
in
declaring
that
this
evening
(May
10)
actor
Mac
Mohan
passed
away.
He
was
a
soft
hearted
gentle
soul.
His
frail
body
defeated
the
strength
of
his
character
and
his
kind
nature.
A
person
of
great
care
and
concern
for
all," Amitabh
wrote
on
his
blog.
Amitabh
has
good
memories
of
him,
as
they
acted
together
in
the
classic
film
Sholay.
“I
worked
with
him
in
several
films,
films
that
can
be
identified
as
being
some
of
the
most
memorable
in
my
repertoire.
Some
of
the
roles
he
did
were
evil
in
nature,
quite
the
opposite
of
his
own
personal
demeanour.
His
laughter
was
full
throated
and
free;
a
symbol
of
the
free
spirit
he
always
depicted," he
added.
The
Big
B
said
that
he
would
miss
Sambha
and
assured
prayers
to
his
family
members.
“He
will
be
missed
and
remembered
for
many
reasons,
but
perhaps
the
most
for
his
reference
in
the
film
Sholay
as
Sambha,
Amjad"s,
and
the
dreaded
character
he
played
of
Gabbar
Singh"s,
gang.
Our
prayers
and
condolences
to
his
family
and
his
near
and
dear," he
wrote.
Mac
Mohan
(71)
passed
away
on
May
10
after
a
prolonged
battle
with
cancer.
He
is
survived
by
his
wife
Mini,
daughters
Manjari
and
Vinati
and
son
Vikrant.
