On
Saturday,
TV
czarina
Ekta
Kapoor
was
besieged
by
calls
and
messages
from
family
and
friends,
asking
if
she
was
fine,
after
reports
of
her
car
accident
flashed
on
a
news
agency.
One
of
the
cars
booked
for
her
met
with
an
accident
en
route
to
Haridwar,
where
she
was
headed
for
the
Maha
Kumbh
Mela
on
Friday.
Wasn't
in
that
car
Says
a
source
close
to
Ekta,
"The
reports
are
wrong.
She
wasn't
even
in
the
car
that
crashed.
The
car
that
was
hit
held
her
luggage
and
two
Balaji
staff
members,
other
than
the
driver.
In
the
absence
of
a
divider
on
the
Delhi-Haridwar
national
highway,
the
car
skidded,
went
off-road,
and
crashed
into
a
tree.
Fortunately,
all
passengers
escaped
with
minor
injuries." Ekta
was
traveling
ahead
with
a
friend
in
another
car
when
the
accident
happened.
"The
moment
she
heard
of
the
accident,
she
turned
the
car
back."
I'm
okay
The
source
continues,
"On
reaching
the
accident
spot,
she
found
that
her
staff
had
suffered
minor
bruises
that
did
not
require
medical
attention.
The
car
was
completely
smashed,
though.
She
bundled
her
staff
into
her
car,
went
to
Haridwar,
took
dips
at
the
Maha
Kumbh
and
returned
to
Mumbai
on
Saturday."
By
then,
news
of
'her
accident'
had
been
reported
by
many
city
papers.
Adds
the
source,
"On
Saturday,
after
landing,
she
headed
straight
to
a
Shani
temple,
and
she
received
some
25
calls
and
hundreds
of
SMSes
asking
her
if
she
was
all
right.
Her
friends
and
family
kept
calling
in
to
check
if
she
was
okay.
Her
dad
Jeetendra
thought
Ekta
had
injured
herself.
He
completely
freaked
out
and
only
calmed
down
after
she
assured
him
she
was
okay."
Confirms
Ekta,
"There
was
a
mishap
that
occurred
with
one
of
the
cars
travelling
with
us
but
I
am
absolutely
fine.
Nothing
happened
to
the
car
I
was
traveling
in."
