Imran-Avantika to have court marriage

More and more celebrities seem to be hoping for a private affair when it comes to their weddings. Nobody wants to create too much hype and hoopla and call half the industry just to see them taking their marriage vows. But Imran Khan, who is all set to marry his sweetheart Avantika Malik, has bigger issues at stake. Not only does he want to do away with the trimmings but also is perplexed about the rituals. His girl is a Hindu while he is a Muslim; the religious dilemma is doing him in.

While he took a break during the shoot of Break Ke Baad, it was his director who came up with a genius idea inspired by his own life. Danish Aslam, who too had an inter-religious marriage with Shruti Seth, suggested that Imran go for a court marriage like he did.

Reveals Imran, "I am from a Muslim family and Avantika belongs to a Hindu family. I personally didn't want to commit our wedding to one religion or another. We felt the best way for us was that we would keep it neutral and have a court marriage. Even Danish, my director of Break Ke Baad, was in the same situation and had a court marriage too."

The wedding will now be a court marriage, a very intimate affair at the star's house in the second week of January, 2011. Everything about it is being kept hush.
