The
row
between
the
makers
of
3
Idiots
and
the
author
of
Five
Point
Someone,
Chetan
Bhagat
might
soon
take
an
ugly
turn.
Director
Raj
Kumar
Hirani
is
stupefied
by
Bhagat's
allegation
that
Aamir
Khan
starer
3
Idiots
was
copied
from
his
book
without
giving
him
due
credit.
Hirani
said
that
it
was
a
clear
case
of
defamation
and
they
may
take
legal
action
against
Bhagat
for
flouting
the
contract.
He
added
that
Bhagat
was
contractually
bound
by
the
producer
Vidhu
Vinod
Chopra
and
the
team
was
already
consulting
lawyers.
Hirani
clarified
that
once
Chetan
Bhagat
had
given
the
rights
to
make
a
film
on
his
book
and
agreed
to
the
contract,
there
shouldn't
have
been
any
percentage
issue.
Hirani
also
stressed
on
the
fact
that
the
basic
plot
of
the
movie
was
different
from
Five
Point
Someone.
An
assertive
Hirani
said
that
there
were
certain
similarities
with
the
book
which
the
3
Idiots
team
wasn't
denying
and
it
was
for
the
same
reason
that
they
had
brought
the
rights
of
the
book.
He
concluded
by
saying
that
there
might
be
a
motivation
to
create
the
controversy
so
that
people
read
the
book.
