Sundar Shaekhar alias Suleman Mirza and the Bharatiya Minorities Suraksha Mahasangh, an organisation founded by Mastan, had earlier filed the suit claiming that the film was based on the character of Mastan and other anti-social elements like Dawood. He alleged that the film showed him in a bad light, giving the notion that Mastan was a terror during his lifetime.
However, Ekta Kapoor's lawyer claimed that nobody associated with the film had made any remark that the film is based on the life of Mastan. He added that they shouldn't have connected him to a film about the underworld if is was not an underworld person.
In the meantime, Mirza said that he would watch the film before its release. He added that he would move the High Court, censor board and stage a dharna if he is not happy with the film.
