Discover Shahrukh Khan's success story on TV

Here is good news for Shahrukh Khan fans, especially for those of you who just can't have enough of him. And the good news is that his inspiring journey to superstardom in Bollywood will be broadcast on the Discovery Channel this Friday.

The hour-long special programme will showcase Shahrukh'a insatiable ambition and his transformation from a villain to an icon in Indian cinema. It will feature anecdotes, interviews and footage from his films

Blue Mango Films and Red Chillies Idiot Box have been asked to produce the programme. Rahul Johri, senior vice president and general manager-India, Discovery Networks, Asia-Pacific said that many prominent personalities from social anthropologists to filmmakers to scholars to critics to lifestyle commentators will talk about the virtues which make him the favourite for brands, an innovative entrepreneur, a superstar, an icon for the NRIs and an ideal family man.

He added that the programme would examine the beginning, growth and impact of one of the biggest success stories of contemporary India - Shahrukh Khan, the Bollywood Baadshah.

Shahrukh Khan, born on November 2, 1965, rose to fame with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which was released in 1995. He has films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chak De India, Om Shanti Om, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna to his credit. His latest release My Name is Khan is on the verge of becoming one of the biggest grossers of all times.
