Shahrukh Khan relocating to Hong Kong

By Raymond Ronamai

Shahrukh Khan can"t help but be in the news. The latest buzz is that he has headed for The Land of The Rising Sun! No, he isn"t quitting town on account of his team"s another dismal performance in the recently concluded IPL. Instead, his waxwork will be making its way from the London Madame Tussauds to the one in Hong Kong.

SRK"s statue in London will be loaned to the Hong Kong wax museum for a period of three months. Japan sees a lot of Indian tourists this time of the year. The number has gone up in the last two years. The keepers of the Hong Kong branch thought it would be good idea to have a Bollywood celebrity at the museum. A source said that Bret Pidgeon, the General Manager was delighted to have Khan join the attraction. So the star will join the likes of Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford and Johnny Depp for three months. His waxwork will be on display at the World Premiere section in the museum until July 21.

Shahrukh"s wax statue was installed at the London Madame Tussauds on 3rd April 2007. The man also has a place in the US counterpart of the museum. He is the first Bollywood star to be inducted into Hollywood museum which boasts of wax figures of celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Depp, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Beyonce and soccer star David Beckham. And now his London figurine will travel to Hong Kong as well. Incidentally, the Hong Kong Tussauds had displayed the wax figure of iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan last year.

Is this another case of SRK following where Big B leads?
