Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who debuted in Bollywood through Saawariya, seems to have fallen in love with the birds after her role in Delhi-6. She played with the pigeon in the song 'Massakali" but this time she has appealed the Home Minister to save them.

On learning that the glass coated thread or manjha used in kite flying kills birds, she has written a letter to Home Minister RR Patil requesting him to ban the use of manjha in the state.

In the letter, Sonam requested the minister to extend the ban of manjha in Mumbai to other parts of the state, as a way to help protect both human and animal lives.

The actress was shocked to learn that a Mumbai boy almost lost his life due to glass-coated manjha. She feels that it should not bring sorrow to other people"s lives.
