Aarakshan's director insecure of Bbuddah

By Kalyani Prasad Keshri

It is Amitabh verses Amitabh situation. The veteran has two releases coming back to back, Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap and Aarakshan. Both the films portray Amitabh in contrasting roles. While in the former he plays the role of an anti-social rebel in the latter he is a serious respectable professor.

These totally opposite characters have become a concern for Prakash Jha, the director of Aarakshan. Jha is of the view that his film would suffer if it is thrown against the angry man character of Amitabh in Bbuddah. After enjoying the bad boy image of Mr. Bachchan in Puri Jagannath's Bbuddah, the audience will find it difficult to adapt the ideological part of him in Aarakshan. Jha even fears that Bbuddah will still be running in theaters when his film Aarakshan releases. Thus this will be a clash between the two characters played by Big B.

To avoid any such clash Prakash has suspended all the marketing and promotional events related to his film. When Mid Day contacted the director, he told, "We will cease all promotions of the film until after the release of Bbuddah. Both the movies feature Amitji in diametrically opposite roles. We don't want any confusion or clash of interest."

Jha has also requested Big B to restrain from making any mention of Aarakshan in any media event until Bbuddah is released.
