Producer Karan Johar has gushed that remaking his father"s 1990 classic Agneepath is an emotional decision. The Bollywood filmmaker says that it is not a remake and is a tribute to the original. The movie showcases several new faces. He calls it a re-adapted and re-energised version of the original.
Karan Johar, who unveils the teaser of the film Agneepath, spoke to the Times of India and said, “There is so much curiosity about Agneepath, that"s why I have released this teaser so much in advance. I want to put curiosity to rest and let people know that this Agneepath is not a remake. It is a tribute to the original, with many new facets."
The film maker says that Agneepath introduces a few new characters, which are played by Rishi Kapoor and others, and Priyanka Chopra-Hrithik Roshan love story has no resonance to the Madhavi-Amitabh track of the 1990 version. “You will also notice that this version of Agneepath has a different texture, a different tonality. It is a readapted and re-energised version that will take people by surprise," the TOI quotes Karan as saying.
However, Agneepath features Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt in the leads. Karan Johar has planned to release this Karan Malhotra directed movie on January 13, 2012. The latest one and a half minute teaser will precede the theatrical trailer of Agneepath that will release with Ra.One this Diwali.
