Actor Amitabh Bachchan and director Prakash Jha were declined permission to hold an interactive session with the student in Lucknow. The district administration cited law and order problems as the main reason behind the decline.

Mr. Bachchan along with director Jha were slated to hold a discussion with students to promote their upcoming film Aarakshan in the city today. The makers of the film were also planning to holding a press conference, however all the plans have been cancelled for now. Local event coordinator Arun Srivastava informed that the administration in a letter stated that keeping in view the protests by some political parties on the subject of the movie it is important to avoid the event for law and order sake.

Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpai were supposed to join the senior actor and the ace director in the interaction with students of undergraduate and post graduate courses. The police also viewed that if permission are granted for Amitabh Bachchan programme then it will create law and order problem in the city.

It is also reported that DySP local intelligence unit informed that some political parties have opposed the event, saying the movie is anti-Dalit. Though initially the district administration had given permission to organise the events with certain restrictions, now they have decided to withhold it.
