Veteran actor Anupam Kher who opted out of the film Gandhi To Hitler and later refused to return the signing amount, is now being sued for 2.5 crores by the filmmakers. Nalin Singh, co-producer of the Gandhi To Hitler confirmed to a daily that he paid Rs 4 lakhs to Kher after he signed the contract.

However Anupam backed out at the last moment after the production work had started. The actor didn't even bother to inform the filmmakers and announced the news at a press conference saying that his fans have appealed him to opt out of the film. Meanwhile Kher feels that the filmmakers are using his name just for publicity and are creating this controversy before the release of Gandhi To Hitler.

The film Gandhi To Hitler is a multilingual Indian drama film based on letters written by Mahatma Gandhi to Adolf Hitler. The film stars Raghubir Yadav as Adolf Hitler and Neha Dhupia as Eva Braun. The film is directed by debuting director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar and produced by Anil Kumar Sharma under the production house Amrapali media vision. The film is all set for a 29 July release.
