Veteran actor Anupam Kher who opted out of the film Gandhi To
Hitler and later refused to return the signing amount, is now
being sued for 2.5 crores by the filmmakers. Nalin Singh,
co-producer of the Gandhi To Hitler confirmed to a daily
that he paid Rs 4 lakhs to Kher after he signed the contract.
However Anupam backed out at the last moment after the
production work had started. The actor didn't even bother to inform
the filmmakers and announced the news at a press conference saying
that his fans have appealed him to opt out of the film. Meanwhile
Kher feels that the filmmakers are using his name just for
publicity and are creating this controversy before the release of
Gandhi To Hitler.
