Speaking
to
journalists,
Genelia
said,
“It
was
a
conscious
effort
to
throw
out
my
hair...the
image
that
I
had
from
Jaane
Tu
Yaa
Jaane
Na...immature,
baby
girl-like.
For
this
film,
I
have
grown
into
a
lady...a
mature
woman
with
my
character
Maya."
The
actress
will
be
seen
romancing
with
John
Abraham
in
Force,
directed
by
Nishikanth
Kamat,
a
National
Award
winning
film
director.
Elaborating
on
her
role
in
Force,
Genelia
said,
“I
think
while
the
young,
cute,
energetic
girl
has
been
something
most
people
associate
me
with,
'Force'
has
given
me
a
character
who
is
a
mature
extension
of
that
bubbly
girl."
Force
is
a
remake
of
superhit
Tamil
film,
Kaakha
Kaakha
(2003).
In
the
original
version,
south
actress
Jyothika
Saravanam
was
a
school
teacher,
while
in
the
Hindi
version,
Genelia
is
featured
as
a
social
activist.
Force,
which
will
release
this
Friday
is
an
action
film
in
which
John
Abraham
has
essayed
the
role
of
a
cop.
Genelia
plays
the
character
of
Maya.
Acccording
to
Genelia,
her
character
plays
a
very
crucial
part
to
the
progression
of
the
film
as
she
is
the
confidante
of
the
protagonist
and
besides
that,
she
is
fearless.
