Katrina Kaif out of Shanghai

If you are a half-Caucasian half-Indian girl or have the look of one, you may end up with a plum film offer. Of course, that can happen only if you bump into filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee because is desperately looking for a girl to replace Katrina Kaif in his latest film Shanghai.

Dibakar Banerjee wanted Katrina to act in Shanghai along with Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi, and the actress too showed keen interest but she turned it down. Reason? She preferred acting with Imran Khan in a romantic comedy to acting with Emraan Hashmi in a political thriller.

Dibakar said that he has been desperately looking for a half-Caucasian half-Indian to play the female lead role in Shanghai. He added that Katrina was ideal for the role but she had other career plan. He is planning to start shooting the film in April but not before finding a suitable girl.
