Veteran
actor
Pankaj
Kapoor,
who
is
set
to
release
debut
directorial
venture
Mausam,
has
revealed
that
it
was
his
son
Shahid
Kapoor,
who
requested
him
to
go
behind
the
camera
for
the
Bollywood
movie.
He
denied
the
reports
that
he
has
imposed
the
period
love
story
on
his
son.
Talking
to
the
PTI,
Pankaj
Kapoor
said,
"It
was
Shahid
who
asked
me
to
direct
the
film,
that
is
how
the
project
started.
When
we
started
off
to
write
the
script
we
were
in
continuous
discussion
and
we
shared
it
with
each
other.
It
is
not
like
the
script
was
imposed
on
him..
we
had
asked
whether
he
likes
the
script
or
not
and
whether
he
wants
to
be
the
part
of
it
or
not."
Meanwhile,
Pankaj
Kapoor
also
confirmed
that
he
maintained
professional
relation
with
his
son
Shahid
during
the
process
of
making
the
film
Mausam.
He
said,
"It
was
professional
relation
from
day
one.
So
afterwards
when
he
said
he
liked
the
script
then
it
was
the
matter
of
he
being
the
actor
and
I
being
the
director.
I
must
say
that
he
did
submit
to
me
as
an
actor
to
large
extent.
When
he
started
working
with
me
he
said
he
is
ready
to
mould
himself
the
way
I
want
it
for
the
film.
This
speaks
hugely
of
him
as
an
actor."
However,
movie
Mausam
features
Shahid
and
Sonam
Kapoor
in
lead
roles.
Talking
about
the
story
of
the
film,
he
said,
"The
film
spreads
across
ten
years.
It
is
not
a
story
of
rebirth.
It
is
a
story
of
two
people
and
their
journey.
It
shows
how
some
socio-political
incidents
makes
them
to
move
to
different
cities.
They
keep
meeting
each
other
in
different
situations
and
eventually
reunite."
