By Kalyani Prasad Keshri

As an honourable gesture to the legendary showman Raj Kapoor, a street in the City of Brampton in Canada will be named after him. Canada is hosting the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend.

The street will be named as Raj Kapoor Crescent and several members of the Kapoor family will be present during the event. The Kapoors will also attend the opening of the IIFA film festival on June 26 in Toronto. The City of Brampton celebrates late Raj Kapoor for his contributions towards Indian Cinema. The city would induct him into the Brampton Hall of Fame and will place a star in his honour.

IIFA and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) have tied up to host a tribute to the patriarch of the Kapoor clan that will be titled, ''Raj Kapoor and the Golden Age of Indian Cinema''. The festival will also be celebrated by displaying several pieces of memorabilia from RK films like the costumes, cut-outs, props, etc., used during the film making.
