Ranveer admits to Mid Day, "Yes, I've had trouble sleeping. During the making, my mind was racing far ahead of my body, trying to get into the hearts and minds of the various characters." Ranveer says that the only way he could have done justice to his characters in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, is by immersing himself completely into them. He informs that each of his characters in the film is totally different from the other, therefore he felt like doing seven different films at the same time.
Ranveer further stated few facts about the film revealing that director Maneesh Sharma had already made it clear to the cast and crew of Ladies vs Ricky Bahl that they are not shooting for one feature film, but a number of short films. The actor told that every department from music to art direction was built separately going by his seven different characters. “It was up to Maneesh Sir to thread all these worlds together," told the actor.
"Manish Sir told me not to push myself too much. I was forbidden from going into extremely contrasting characterisations. If I played all them as completely different characters, there was a grave risk of the various avatars coming across as caricatures," he concluded.
Band Baaja Baaraat star Ranveer Singh has gone ahead to play as many as seven roles in his next film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. The switching among seven different characters has left the young actor nervous, who has even been suffering from insomnia.
