Ram
Gopal
Varma
sweeps
aside
all
the
rumours
about
his
conflict
with
actor
Amitabh
Bachchan
and
confirms
the
news
that
Big
B
will
be
playing
the
role
of
a
gangster-turned-politician
in
his
upcoming
flick
Department.
The
filmmaker
wrote,
“Am
mighty
excited
about
the
role
Mr
Bachchan
is
playing
in
'Department'....he's
playing
a
gangster
turned
politician." He
continues,
“Imagine
the
'Agneepath'
character
turning
over
a
new
leaf
and
yet
to
have
the
same
hard
intensity
and
been
there
done
that
know-how."
A
few
days
ago,
there
were
reports
on
Varma
announcing
that
Mr.
Bachchan
is
no
more
a
part
of
film
Department.
Just
after
the
announcement,
there
were
speculations
that
all
is
not
well
between
the
two.
It
was
also
reported
that
it
was
Amitabh
who
opted
out
of
the
RGV
film.
Soon
after
the
reports
hit
the
headlines,
Varma,
cleared
the
air
by
tweeting,
“I
highly
respect
Mr
Bachchan
and
am
highly
affectionate
towards
Abhishek
and
the
reasons
for
changes
in
'Department' are
nothing
but
date
issues.
Anyway
for
whoever
wants
to
know
whether
we
work
or
not
my
relationship
with
the
Bachchans
is
very
sacred
for
me
and
will
remain
so
forever".
The
ace
director
has
worked
with
Abhishek
Bachchan
and
Amitabh
Bachchan
in
films
like
Sarkar,
Sarkar
Raj,
Rann,
RGV
Ki
Aag,
Naach
and
Nishabd.
Department
is
a
film
which
will
center
around
politics.
The
film
will
feature
Amitabh
Bachchan,
Sanjay
Dutt,
Kangana
Ranaut
and
Rana
Daggubati
(instead
of
Abhishek).
