Salman's Bodyguard screening in 2,799 theatres

Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Bollywood movie Bodyguard has made a grand entry into theatres across the globe. Reliance Entertainment"s action-romance film has put out as many as 2,000 prints across 2,799 screens. This is said to be one of the biggest releases in Bollywood and it is coming as a big treat for Eid and Ganesh festival.

Talking about the release of Bodyguard, Salman Khan says that 2,000 prints is just the beginning. “The business has grown manifold with the number of theatres also increasing. With business being concentrated over the weekends, the box office dynamics have changed. Bodyguard is fortunate to release around Eid/Ganpati, and both Hindus and Muslims are in a celebratory mood," the actor told the Times of India.

Salman Khan's previous releases like Wanted and Dabangg have coincided with Eid festival and have become a blockbusters. Distributor NR Pachisia says that Bodyguard is to be treated as an event. “His releases usually coincide with Eid, so it becomes a family/community outing. This time, the mood in the country is jubilant. We have Eid/Ganpati for a dual celebration," Pachisia told the TOI.

However, Salman Khan's latest film Bodyguard is a remake of 2010 Malayalam movie with the same name. Siddique, who had directed Malayalam and Tamil versions, has taken up the challenge to do it in Hindi too. He has done a few changes in the latest version to suit the taste of Hindi audience. Film critics have given positive reviews for the movie Bodyguard. Now, the viewers response is awaited.
