In
recent
years,
it
has
become
a
trend
that
all
big
banner
movies
face
legal
problems
just
before
their
release
and
Sanjay
Dutt's
movie
Rascals,
which
is
set
to
hit
the
screens
on
7th
October,
is
not
exception
to
it.
This
film
has
also
landed
in
a
legal
trouble,
which
is
posing
a
threat
to
the
film
not
being
screened
in
Cinemax.
The
CEO
of
Cinemax,
Sunil
Punajbi
has
taken
Sanjay
Dutt's
partners
Sanjay
Ahluwalia
of
Rupali
Aum
Entertainment
to
court
following
his
dispute
with
Vinay
Choksey
of
Cinemax
Pvt
Ltd.
He
has
claimed
that
Sanjay
has
not
fulfilled
the
commitment
of
making
a
movie
despite
being
paid
Rs
2
crore
in
2008.
He
has
also
filed
a
plea
in
a
court
for
a
stay
on
the
release
of
Rascals.
"Their
company
was
supposed
to
make
a
movie
for
us.
So
we've
opted
for
the
legal
route
to
get
our
money
back.
We
have
decided
to
not
screen
Rascals
at
any
of
our
properties," the
Mid-Day
quotes
Sunil
Punajbi
as
saying.
He
added,
The
company
invested
a
considerable
amount
of
money.
But
there
has
been
nothing
coming
out
of
that.
We've
reacted
on
getting
no
results
after
three
years
of
waiting."
However,
Cinemax
is
one
of
the
largest
multiplex
chains
and
it
has
126
screens
across
India.
The
bosses
of
the
multiplex
have
planned
to
boycott
the
screening
of
Rascals.
Instead,
they
are
banking
on
Hollywood
biggie
Real
Steel.
Now,
trade
analysts
feel
that
Cinemax's
decision
will
make
a
big
dent
in
the
collections
of
Rascals.
