After
a
huge
success
that
Tanu
Weds
Manu
garnered
after
its
release,
the
film
is
suddenly
hit
by
some
legal
issues.
Vinod
Bachchan,
(Soundarya
Productions)
who
is
the
51%
stake
owner
in
the
IPR,
has
filed
a
complaint
to
the
police
accusing
his
distributor
Sunil
Bohra
(Bohra
Bros)
of
criminal
breach,
mischief,
cheating,
misrepresentation
and
fraud.
A
trade
source
told
TOI,
“Vinod
Bachchan
and
Shailesh
R
Singh
are
the
producers
of
Tanu
Weds
Manu.
They
had
entrusted
the
distribution
rights
of
their
film
to
Sunil
Bohra
(Bohra
Bros)
for
a
stipulated
period
of
10
years
via
an
agency
agreement
dated
October
11,
2010.
However,
Bohra
is
said
to
have
sold
TWM
to
a
film
corporation
and
also
sold
the
satellite
and
music
rights
of
the
film
to
a
leading
channel
and
a
music
house
respectively,
claiming
that
he
(Sunil
Bohra)
is
the
producer.
When
Bachchan
realised
that
he
had
been
'duped'
he
swung
into
action
and
has
filed
a
police
complaint
at
the
Oshiwara
Police
Station
under
section
120(b)
of
the
IPC''.
The
issue
is
being
addressed
by
the
AMPTPP
(Association
of
Motion
Pictures
and
Television
Programme
Producers).
Reportedly,
they
have
engaged
two
mediators-producers
Tutu
Sharma
and
Harry
Baweja
to
sort
out
the
matter.
While
Vinod
Bachchan
preferred
to
keep
quiet,
BT
has
got
a
copy
of
the
police
complaint
made
by
him.
The
producer's
lawyers
Medialexicon
has
given
out
a
public
notice
in
one
of
the
Bollywood
film
trade
papers
restating
that
Vinod
Bachchan
is
the
producer
of
Tanu
Weds
Manu.
