The Dirty Picture makers file caveat petitions in 20 courts

Producers Ekta Kapoor and Sobha Kapoor of the movie The Dirty Picture have filed caveat petitions in 20 cities across the country requesting not to entertain any petition against release of the film. Their move to court is coming after Silk Smitha's brother Vadlapatla Naga Vara Prasad moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court to withhold its release.

In the court papers, Vadlapatla Naga Vara Prasad claimed that The Dirty Picture is based on the tampered facts of life of the late south Indian actress Silk Smitha and the movie portrays his sister in an obscene manner. He requested the court to get removed such scenes before its release.

But in a bid to preempt any further roadblocks to the project, the filmmakers of The Dirty Picture have filed caveat petitions in nearly 20 courts across the country. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Smitha's brother confirmed, "I received intimation from courts in various cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Vijayawada and Eluru (hometown)."
