The
song
'All
Is
Well"
in
the
Blockbuster
movie
3
Idiots
showed
Ranchodas
Shamaldas
Chanchad
aka
Phunsukh
Wangdu
a.k.a
Aamir
Khan
trying
to
fix
a
helicopter
like
device,
which
ultimately
records
the
suicide
of
a
classmate
in
its
maiden
flight.
This
device
evidently
grabbed
eyeballs
in
the
movie,
since
the
idea
has
been
adopted
by
the
security
forces
of
India.
Now,
the
Border
Security
Force
(BSF)
and
the
Central
Reserve
Police
Force
(CRPF)
are
using
this
device
to
fight
anti-terror
and
counter-insurgency
operations.
The
machine
in
the
movie
is
the
same
as
the
one
built
by
Idea-Forge,
a
company
founded
by
three
IIT-Bombay
alumni.
The
Defence
Research
and
Development
Organisation
(DRDO)
have
tied
up
with
Idea-Forge
to
refine
the
UAV
and
have
named
it
Netra.
What
started
out
in
a
movie
is
now
going
to
be
used
to
fight
terrorism
taking
the
whole
concept
of
being
innovative
to
a
whole
new
level.
Clearly,
the
Vinod
Chopra
camp
is
ahead
of
their
game
not
only
in
terms
of
filming
but
also
technology
in
general.
