Emraan-Abhay's Shanghai releasing on June 8

Director Dibakar Banerjee's latest movie Shanghai, which is distributed by PVR Pictures, is scheduled to release on 8th June, 2012. The political thriller, which is currently being shot in Maharashtra, features actors Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee in the leads.

Shanghai has been inspired by the Costa Gavras directed movie Z, which was released in 1969. The film is based on the life of politicians and their greed. The movie talks about the present roller coaster expose of big money politics and how the common man gets his revenge back.

Director Dibakar Banerjee is thrilled at the way Shanghai has shaped up. Banerjee said: “Frankly I have been stunned by the performances from our stars and our character artistes. I can safely say that all preconceived notions that people have about both Abhay and Emraan are going to be shattered by this movie."
