Actor-turned-director Farhan Akhtar is essaying the iconic role of legendary athlete Milkha Singh in his upcoming movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The excited Bollywood star feels that he is very fortunate to play the role of 'Flying Sikh'. Farhan is leaving no stone unturned to get into shape for the demanding role in the film.
Talking to PTI at an award nomination party in Mumbai, Farhan Akhtar said, “I am fortunate enough to play an iconic person (Milkha) on screen. I will be forcing him to accept that I am playing his role. I think that will be enough." The actor added, "I have started running regularly. I am also going to meet Milkha Singh."
However, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a biographical sports drama, inspired by the life of Milkha, one of the earliest sports icons of post-1947 India. The film, which is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, will trace Milkha's childhood in today's Pakistan, the Partition and his achievements as an athlete in the independent India.
