Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has denied reports that his dream
project Heroine is based on the life of actress Manisha
Koirala. The grapevine was abuzz earlier that the film was inspired
by the Nepali beauty's life. The Bollywood director says that the
film revolves around the life of a once successful star Mahi
Khanna, whose career is on a decline.

the life of Manisha Koirala. Lot of things had been written about
the film before. But all I would say is that I have created a
character called Mahi who is today's girl. The film is all about
how she witnesses the ups and downs in her life."
Kareena Kapoor is reprising the role of Mahi in the movie
Heroine. Talking about the film Madhur Bhandarkar says,
"It will be a different sort of a film for Kareena. It is different
kind of cinema..she has never done this kind of a film before."
