Karan Johar's Gippy to be a kids movie

Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has added another feather to its cap with its upcoming movie, Gippy. However, what makes this movie so different is the fact that for the first time Dharma Productions is launching a lady director. Also, the genre of this movie is something to look out for.

Dharma Productions' has explored various genres right from the super hit romantic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to action packed Agneepath! This is the first time when Dharma will be producing a movie just for the kids. Major chunk of the movie has already been shot in Shimla and currently the shooting is going on in Mumbai.

Sonam Nair, who has earlier assisted Ayan Mukherji in Dharma Productions' Wake Up Sid, is now turning as independent director with Gippi. The director herself conducted auditions for the lead actor and auditioned several aspiring young actors across India. Finally, she roped in 13-year-old Delhi-based Riya Vij for the title role in the movie Gippi.

Riya Vij is completely new to the industry and she has no prior experience of performing in front of the camera. But sources close to the director say that she is a perfect match for the role of Gippi. However, the release date of the movie is not out yet, but we are positive that with this movie, Karan Johar will win the hearts of many children along the way.
