Mumbai:
Kareena
Kapoor's
upcoming
movie
has
landed
in
a
fresh
trouble.
The
Ministry
of
Information
and
Broadcasting
(I&B)
has
imposed
a
mandatory
condition
of
displaying
a
"static" anti-smoking
message
during
smoking
scenes
in
the
film.
However,
the
makers
of
Heroine
did
not
agree
with
I&B
and
have
moved
to
Delhi
High
Court
against
I&B.
The
production
house,
UTV
Software
Communication,
moved
the
court
seeking
quashing
of
the
I&B
ministry's
August
two
letter
imposing
the
condition
on
the
filmmakers
to
display
the
"static" anti-smoking
message
during
smoking
scenes.
According
to
the
petition,
the
I&B
ministry
has
in
its
August
two
letter
requested
the
CBFC
to
advise
the
filmmakers
to
ensure
"a
20-second
anti-smoking
message
as
approved
by
Health
Ministry
with
voice
over
of
the
actors
who
is
seen
smoking
in
the
film
to
be
displayed
at
the
beginning
and
in
middle
(after
interval)
of
the
film."
The
Ministry
had
issued
a
letter
pursuant
to
its
October
27,
2011,
notification
in
terms
of
the
Cigarettes
and
Other
Tobacco
Products
(Prohibition
of
Advertisement
and
Regulation
of
Trade
and
Commerce,
Production,
Supply)
rules.
In
addition
to
this,
another
condition
imposed
on
film-makers
was
that
"a
static
anti-smoking
message
to
be
displayed
for
the
duration
of
smoking
scene
in
the
film."
Heroine
is
scheduled
to
be
released
on
September
21.
