Mumbai: Shirish Kunder's upcoming movie Joker has been entrapped in legal hassle for allegedly insulting patriotic sentiments. According to the reports, a legal notice has been served on the Central Board of Film Certification demanding deletion of the item number.
It is said that the item number insults our first warrior of independence, Rani Laxmibai. "The song, Kaafirana, carries offensive words and utters the name of the great warrior princess Jhansi Ki Rani in a derogatory manner. We want the producer, Shirish Kunder, to delete the item number or Rani Laxmibai's name must be deleted from that song," lawyer S Kunjuraman told IANS.
The song features actress Chitrangada Singh and is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Joker is a fantasy adventure film that has Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the leads. The movie is all set to release on August 31.
