Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has slammed the rumours
that he has replaced Hrithik Roshan with Ranbir
Kapoor in his ambitious project Paani. The speculation were being
made after the Oscar-nominated Bollywood director recently had a
casual meeting with the Rockstar actor. Shekhar seems to
be very upset with the reports.
The disappointed Shekhar Kapoor took to his Twitter page to
quash the reports. The Bollywood filmmaker tweeted, "Oops! Can't I
meet an actor I like without setting off rounds of speculation? And
would anyone be silly enough to give up Hrithik for a film?"
Talking about his meeting with Ranbir Kapor, Shekhar Kapur feels
that Indian cinema is in safe hands with new breed of actors.
"Press asking why I've been seen with Ranbir Kapoor. I really enjoy
listening to him. Future of Indian Cinema safe in this breed of new
stars," he added.
However, Shekhar Kapur's upcoming movie Paani is set in
2040 and is all about water wars set in the world of the future and
a mega city that has run out of the world's most precious resource.
The film will be shot in India and Singapore. The filmmaker had
earlier planned to start shooting for it in November, 2011 and
release it in the mid of 2012. But it is not clear why the shooting
has not begun yet.
