Bollywood diva Rekha takes oath as Rajya Sabha MP

Veteran actress Rekha became the latest member from Bollywood to enter politics. Rekha took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Clad in golden brown saree and a matching high-heel sandals, the 57-year-old actor arrived in the Upper House at 10.57 hours and was immediately surrounded by members who greeted her profusely.

"I Rekha Ganeshan" she said, swearing in the name of God in her brief oath in English. Chairman Hamid Ansari remarked "welcome" as she walked up to him after taking oath and greeted him with folded hands.

After signing the member register, she greeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley and other leaders before walking to her allotted seat no. 99.

However, the most interesting part of this oath was when Rekha was walking towards the podium, the camera immediately focused on Jaya Bachchan.

Hmmm.. it looks like the whole world is waiting for some masala. And why not? If our Lok Sabha MPs can throw chairs at each other than even our Rajya Sabha MPs can have some little catfights!!
