Salman Khan emerges as the highest taxpayer in Bollywood

Mumbai: Salman Khan emerged as the highest taxpayer in Bollywood by paying Rs 8 crore in advance tax in July-September this year.

Thanks to his films Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard that grossed Rs 100 crore at the Box Office, Salman Khan is now the highest taxpayer in tinselville.

Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger opposite Katrina Kaif made almost Rs 198 crore at the Box Office.

Katrina Kaif, on the other hand, paid Rs 2.60 crore this year in comparison to Rs 1.70 crore that she paid last year. Salman's career rival, Shahrukh Khan paid Rs 5 crore.

Akshay Kumar, whose career is rocking at the moment is said to have paid Rs 7.5 crore advance tax in comparison to Rs 5 crore that he paid last year. Aamir Khan paid only Rs 3.25 crore in contrast to Rs 4.50 crore last year.

Saif Ali Khan, whose films Agent Vinod and Cocktail got mixed responses at the Box Office paid a tax of Rs 3 crore compared to Rs 1.7 crore paid last year. His girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor, whom he will be tying the knot with very soon, has paid an advance tax of Rs 2.20 crore compared to Rs 1.5 crore that she paid in the past year. Her upcoming film Heroine is expected to be one of the biggest hits of the year.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 5 crore against the Rs 1.4 crore that he paid last year while his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan paid Rs 3 crore. This is a huge leap from the past year when she paid Rs 1.1 crore.
