Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor bag Ghanta Awards 2012

Most of the awards ceremonies are meant honour stars for excellence in cinema. But Ghanta Awards dishes out trophies to the worst and poorly constructed movies, wooden actors and actresses and the worst rip-offs. Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Ra.One have bagged this year's Ghanta Awards.

The nominees for the 2nd Annual Ghanta Awards 2011 were decided by a panel of experts and the winners were chosen by public through online voting. The winners were announced at a ceremony at The Comedy Store, Mumbai on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 by stand-up comedians Varun Thakur, G Khamba, Varun Grover, Aditi Mittal and Karan Talwar.

As usual several winners did not turn up to the awards ceremony. Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were two big celebrities, who were present at the event and they were centre of the attraction. Later, after reviving the awards Sonam Kapoor tweeted, “Was @theghanta awards. What a talented bunch of writers and actors! Great show guys.”

Worst Director: Anees Bazmee (Ready, Thank You)

Worst Supporting Actress: Hazel Keech (Bodyguard)
Worst Couple: Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri
Worst Item Number: Dhinka Chika (Ready)
WTF Was That: Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor
That's Anything But Sexy: Kangana Ranaut (Rascals)
Worst Story Rip-off: Desi Boyz
Worst Breakthrough: Nargis Fakhri (Rockstar)
