Satyamev Jayate: Aamir Khan on the cover of Times Magazine!

Superstar Aamir Khan has become the third Indian actor to make it to the cover of the iconic Time Magazine for taking up social issues on his show Satyamev Jayate. Before Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Parveen Babi were featured on the magazine cover.

Aamir Khan is the first Indian actor to feature on Times Cover with the caption - Khan's Quest. The blurb on the cover says, "He's breaking the Bollywood mold by tackling India's social evils. Can one actor change a nation?"

Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate was aired on TV for 13 weeks. In the show, Aamir dealt with issues like female foeticide, dowry and honour killings. Due to his show, Aamir Khan also faced the ire of certain communities which included the Indian Medical Association and a Khap of Haryana.

Other than Aamir Khan, Parveen Babi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, other Indians who have graced the covers of the Times magazine include Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Sania Mirza, Sachin Tendulkar and Dr Manmohan Singh.
