Shahrukh Khan becomes West Bengal's brand ambassador

Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan has accepted West Bengal government's proposal to become brand ambassador of the state.

Speaking to reporters at the state secretariat Writers' Buildings in Kolkata on Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “Shahrukh Khan has become brand ambassador of West Bengal."

Secretariat sources said that the 46-year-old actor had written a letter to the chief minister conveying his acceptance of the proposal. "West Bengal is my second home," Khan said.

Banerjee had requested Shahrukh Khan to become the brand ambassador of West Bengal during a chat after the inauguration of the 17th Kolkata film Festival last November. Shahrukh had at that time agreed to the chief minister's request.
