The latest development on Chennai Express is that UTV Motion Pictures will be producing it.

Taran Adarsh in a recent tweet confirmed the news. He wrote, “UTV Motion Pictures will be producing 'Chennai Express', starring @iamsrk and directed by Rohit Shetty.”

Chennai Express is a hard-core commercial film with a romantic angle. The story is about a man travelling from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens to him during the journey.

However, who is playing the role of the lead heroine is still a mystery. But there is a strong buzz that Rohit Shetty is planning to cast Deepika Padukone opposite Shahrukh Khan.
