Amitabh Bachchan has beaten Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan in the screen survey as the actor with the biggest brand value. Amitabh had also topped the last year survey and continues to show that even at the age of 71, he is way ahead of his younger counterparts. Amitabh Bachchan came out on top with 37% of the votes while Shahrukh and Salman got 14% and 12% respectively.
The senior actor was attributed with qualities like talented(18%), Excellent at his craft(12%), Intelligence(11%), Hardworking(8%) and versatile(6%). Besides winning numerous awards in bollywood, Amitabh has also won accolades all over the world. He was conferred the title of " Biggest star of the millennium" by BBC in an online poll. He had defeated the likes of Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Laurence Olivier among others. The first brand he endorsed was the BPL television, for which he got the highest fees for any South East Asia actor. Amitabh is also known to resurrect some brands which are in dire straits, like the Cadbury brand which was marred in a controversy regarding some worms found in a shop. Another example is the Polio drops ad, where he convinced people to make sure that their children get the polio drops, it worked and the result is polio free India. Shahrukh, who has recently delivered the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema and Salman with his recent streak of hit movies are still lagging behind the great actor. This shows that Amitabh still has a large fan following and there is still a lot of catching up to do for the current crop of actors. His latest release was Satyagraha, which was appreciated by the critics.
