Arjun Kapoor, who made a terrific debut with Ishaqzaade, is now teaming up with his father-producer Boney Kapoor for a new action film. The film is a remake of a Telugu blockbuster Okkadu which was previously remade in Tamil as Gilli with Vijay in the lead. Boney Kapoor, famous for producing landmark movies like Mr. India and Company, wanted the title Tevar for this new film but title was already registered by Adiya Chopra.
Debutant Amit Sharma directs this quite typical south flavoured movie peppered with peppy numbers and high octane fights. Boney Kapoor and Arjun thought alike when it came to the title of film but unfortunately their coveted title was registered by none other than Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. Arjun Kapoor is reported to be flattened by Adi's gesture of giving away the title to him without any legal hassles. Arjun revealed that he had asked for the title only once and Adi gifted it to him right away even though it was his favourite title.
Tevar, in which Arjun plays a college boy-kabbadi player, will have Sonakshi Sinha as the lead actress. It seems like Sonakshi Sinha is Bollywood's first choice when they make an action film with a south flavour.
Shoot of 'Tevar' will take place shortly , from January 2014.
