Director
Ayan
Mukherjee,
who
has
paired
former
couple
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Deepika
Padukone
in
his
upcoming
film
Yeh
Jawaani
Hai
Deewani,
says
he
appreciates
the
attitude
of
the
two
actors
towards
work.
Before
they
split,
Ranbir
and
Deepika
were
last
seen
together
in
Bachna
Ae
Haseeno.
The
film
has
created
quite
a
buzz
from
the
time
it
went
on
floors
primarily
because
of
the
pairing
of
Ranbir
and
Deepika.
"Their
dating
earlier
was
not
a
big
deal,
they
were
a
couple,
there
were
a
lot
of
controversies
later
like
the
Koffee
with
Karan
episode
and
etc.
But
today
there
is
nothing
like
that...
they
are
now
good
friends
and
co-stars," Ayan
told
PTI.
"They
are
very
comfortable
with
each
other.
It
makes
me
feel
good
about
their
attitude
towards
work,"
he
said.
The
promo
of
Yeh
Jawaani
Hai
Deewani
ends
with
Deepika's
dialogue
-
'Mujhe
Tumse
Pyar
Ho
Jayega...
Phir
Se'
–
to
Ranbir."
"A
lot
has
been
said
about
Deepika's
line
in
the
promo.
There
is
excitement
among
the
audience
and
I
am
happy
about
it.
It
was
part
of
the
story
when
I
wrote
that
line.
It
comes
as
the
part
of
the
scene,
it
is
very
natural.
There
are
many
points
in
the
film
where
people
will
feel
they
would
have
been
good
together,"
he
said.
Ayan
reveals
that
before
zeroing
in
on
Ranbir
and
Ayan
reveals
that
before
zeroing
in
on
Ranbir
and
Deepika
he
had
some
names
in
mind,
but
finally
cast
the
two
actors
because
they
fit
the
bill.
"A
lot
has
been
said
about
their
coming
together,
during
the
casting
process
none
of
that
was
in
our
mind.
We
were
trying
to
find
the
right
actors
for
the
roles.
We
took
time
as
we
wanted
to
be
100
per
cent
sure
about
the
casting.
I
feel
both
were
right
choices
and
I
am
happy
they
agreed
to
do
the
film,"
he
added.
Releasing
on
May
31,
the
romantic
film
is
produced
by
Karan
Johar
and
also
stars
Aditya
Roy
Kapur
and
Kalki
Koechlin.
This
is
Ayan's
second
film,
the
first
being
Wake
up
Sid
(2009).
It
took
him
close
to
four
years
for
his
second
directorial
venture
and
he
is
quite
okay
with
it.
Ayan
does
not
believe
in
making
one
film
a
year.
"I
needed
time
to
make
this
film
as
I
wanted
to
do
it
correctly.
At
many
levels
I
think
understanding
of
what
I
wanted
to
make
was
required,
writing
it
correctly
and
then
presenting
it.
Creativity
does
not
cater
to
timelines,"
he
said.
The
germ
of
the
idea
for
this
film
came
to
Ayan
much
before
his
debut
as
a
director
happened
with
Wake
up
Sid.
He
feels
he
has
grown
as
a
director
with
the
second
film.
"I
think
I
have
been
able
to
express
myself
much
more,
there
is
openness
with
Yeh
Jawaani
Hai
Deewani.
And
in
some
ways
the
film
is
about
different
facets
of
life
-
friendship,
love,
etc.
I
was
obsessed
to
make
this
film.
I
am
happy
I
have
made
it
now,"
he
added.
