Chennai Express and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara! are releasing just a week apart from each other. Both the movies are much awaited in the B-Town. While many may expect a tough competition between the two films, actor Imran Khan who plays the role of a gangster in the latter doesn't seem worried.
Chennai Express hits the screens on August 9 and
Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara! is set to release on
the Independence day, August 15.
"The Chennai Express team are releasing their movie a
week apart, so I don't see any cause for stress. The fact is that
nowadays films do a majority of their business on their first
weekend of release," Imran said at the cover launch of the stardust
"By the time you reach the second weekend, they already are
trailing out, so it's not even a competition. The market has grown
now, the exhibitors have multiplied ten-folds since the past, and
there are a ridiculous number of theatres now," he added.
Imran reveals that the Box-Office figures do not affect him.
"I'm not at all bothered by box office figures because it
ultimately makes difference to the producers and distributors of
the film," said Imran.
The actor also explains that he does the job of an actor and
what's beyond that is not in his hands."My job is to do my scenes
from action to cut, then I have to turn up to promote my film, but
beyond that it's not actually in my hands. The director is the one
who is making the film, the producer is the one who is marketing
the film. So these things are their expertise, and I don't enter
into that space," he added.
Chennai Express is a comedy film directed by Rohit
Shetty and it features superstar Shahrukh Khan and Deepika
Padukone. On the other hand, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai
Dobaara! is a period gangster drama which features Akshay
Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, besides Imran.
