Almost
two
months
ago,
the
makers
of
the
upcoming
film
Dhoom
3
had
sent
across
a
message
to
all
the
theatres
in
the
country.
The
message
carried
the
news
that
Dhoom
3
will
release
only
in
the
theatres
that
will
have
the
digital
technology
to
screen
the
film.
The
message
was
loud
and
clear
-
go
digital
or
miss
Dhoom
3.
With
this
piece
of
information,
quite
a
few
single
screen
theatre
managers
were
disappointed
that
they
cannot
screen
one
of
the
most
awaited
films
because
they
lack
the
digital
technology.
Aditya
Chopra
had
announced
this
a
while
ago
so
that
many
theatres
will
be
prepared
to
go
digital
for
the
Dhoom
thrill.
However,
many
single
screen
theatres
are
not
well
equipped
to
go
digital
and
therefore
have
to
let
go
of
Dhoom
3
which
stars
Aamir
Khan
in
the
lead
role.
By
not
releasing
in
small
screens
that
lack
the
digital
technology,
the
Yash
Raj
Films
will
be
losing
out
in
monetary
matters
but
it
looks
like
they
are
ready
to
pay
the
price.

The
reason
why
the
YRF
is
keen
to
release
the
film
digitally
is
to
curb
piracy.
Releasing
Dhoom
3
or
any
other
movie
through
digital
technology
and
UFO
digital
cinema
will
prevent
piracy
as
the
prints
are
water-marked
and
finger-printed
and
can
be
traced
back.
Dhoom
3
hits
the
theatres
on
December
20.
