Income Tax Raid At Director Ram Gopal Varma's Office!

Bollywood's renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has landed in deep trouble after the Income Tax officials reportedly conducted raids yesterday afternoon (September 11, 2013) at the former's Andheri office and stayed in there till 10.30 pm.

As per a leading daily, the Tax Officials arrived at Ram Gopal Varma's Millat Nagar office in Andheri, yesterday around 2 pm. The raid was conducted after the officials discovered that there's no record of the filmmaker's production houses being registered anywhere let alone in Hyderabad. Talking to a daily, a tax official said that they'll be scrutinising each of RGV's project "to find out the amount of service and professional tax he has evaded".

A while ago, tax officials had also raided producer Ekta Kapoor's office as well as house. Reportedly, the producer was accused of evading tax. The producer had experienced the IT ire ahead of release of her then big project -- Shootout at Wadala. Prior to this, service tax officials had raided filmmakers Sameer Karnik and Anurag Kashyap's offices also.
